En route to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival
In pursuit of its objective to enhance artistic capacity and talent, the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation's Armenian Fellowships offered a unique opportunity to two talented individuals from OnOff Animation Studios. Lusine and Gor were granted the chance to participate in the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, held annually in the picturesque town of Annecy, France.
The Annecy Festival is one of the most revered events in the animation industry, bringing together a global array of filmmakers, animators, and creative minds. Lusine and Gor took on the role of welcoming and networking with participants at the Annecy Mifa Armenian Pavilion.
Additionally, they conducted master classes showcasing the innovative use of VR technology in animated film production. This unique approach generated significant interest in the global animation market, leading to a dynamic atmosphere and heightened attention at the Armenian pavilion. They also attended various screenings and engaged in networking sessions with industry experts. The festival's impact extends far beyond mere appreciation of animated films, as it provides valuable insights and inspiration for the growth of animation in Armenia.
Lusine described her experience at the Annecy Animation Festival as exhilarating and rewarding. The exposure to diverse animated films crafted with various techniques and exploring different themes broadened her horizons and provided a benchmark for quality and innovation in the industry. "Film production encompasses a complex and multi-layered process involving artists, producers, and directors. Engaging with professionals from various disciplines and exchanging experiences has greatly contributed to my professional development," she said about her experience at Annecy.
Gor, the other talented OnOff team member, found his experience at the Annecy Festival to be deeply enriching. He was inspired by the many films showcased at the festival, which showcased the latest artistic and storytelling trends shaping the industry. Interacting with accomplished producers and industry experts provided invaluable lessons and insights that will shape his future endeavors. The opportunity to showcase the studio's portfolio at the Armenian National Pavilion opened doors to fruitful collaborations and new connections. "The Annecy Festival provided the ideal environment for us to nurture our creative spirit, expand our network, and forge alliances that will propel our studio forward," he explained.
