The H.Hovnanian Family Foundation's Impactful Investment in Robotic-Assisted Surgery
Robotic-assisted surgery is revolutionizing the way our physicians operate on patients with certain gynecologic, urologic, colorectal, thoracic and other general conditions at Riverview Medical Center, thanks to the incredible generosity of the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation.
The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation granted $750,000 to The Center for Robotic Surgery at Riverview Medical Center for the purchase of a da Vinci® XiTM surgical robot. This innovative technology, which provides surgeons with unparalleled precision, dexterity and control that allows for a minimally invasive surgical approach for many complex surgical procedures, has had a profound impact on patients’ healing and recuperation. Because of this cutting-edge equipment, patients are able to recover faster, have less blood loss and a lower risk of infection, shorter hospital stays, smaller incisions with little scarring and reduced pain, which helps to reduce the need for opioid pain medication and provides for an overall better surgical experience.
