H. Hovnanian Family Foundation Q4 Grants Focus on Workforce Development
OCT. 1, 2024 — The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation is pleased to announce that its 4th quarter grants program will target proposals addressing critical workforce development needs in Armenia. For the months of October - December, 2024, the Foundation will accept proposals that align with our strategic goals of upskilling professionals, enhancing vocational education and training (VET) systems, and reinforcing career services within educational institutions. Our wide-ranging objectives are designed to support both individuals and institutions, ensuring measurable outcomes that foster long-term impact across the workforce landscape.
Proposals should address at least one or a combination of our three key goals: 1) upskilling professionals to be work-ready; 2) reskilling the existing workforce to adapt to evolving market demands; and 3) strengthening VET institutions and career services. Projects that address multiple objectives will be prioritized for funding. Also, preference will be given to proposals involving high-demand sectors such as agriculture, construction, and hospitality, although other sectors will be considered with proper research-based justification.
Recognizing gaps in the current workforce landscape, the Foundation’s funding priorities will include initiatives that support both individuals and institutions. Priority will be given to projects focused on reskilling and upskilling adults (25+), with no upper age limit. Special consideration will be given to initiatives that support underprivileged groups, including displaced individuals from Artsakh, helping them secure employment. Additionally, the Foundation will prioritize proposals that strengthen institutional frameworks, such as enhancing career centers at universities and strengthening the capacity of vocational education and training (VET) systems. While these are the key focus areas, proposals targeting other sectors and innovative approaches to workforce development are also encouraged.
The Foundation aims to support projects that create a ripple effect, bringing together institutions and communities to build a sustainable workforce capable of meeting Armenia's evolving economic demands. As with previous quarters, collaborative proposals involving multiple stakeholders to maximize impact and resources are strongly encouraged. Organizations are urged to demonstrate clear partnerships with public and private sector actors and concrete agreements with institutions they plan to work with, ensuring long-term project sustainability and the ability to meet evolving market demands.
Fourth quarter funding of $250,000 USD will be allocated to an anticipated 5 - 8 grant recipients, although the exact number of awardees will vary depending on the quality and scope of proposal received. Eligible organizations can apply until the December 31, 2024 deadline, with successful grant awardees expected to be announced in February 2025.
